A different class of party

Friday the 20th was our Sixth Form Ball, basically a massive party at a posh venue to celebrate the two gruelling years that we have endured that people refer to as sixth form; The night was jaw-droppingly good, sharing a night with my friends where we could relax and be treated like adults. That said the people i dislike from our sixth form still had to attend and although their presence was annoying it did not ruin the evening for me or anyone else, it appears they have a very limited social circle and they for the majority of the night stayed confined to their table.
The night started at 3pm, from college we conveyed to my friend Tom's large house, or small mansion would be more accurate, all six of us showered and changed whilst consuming copious amounts of alcohol, at 6pm we moved from the pre-drinks at Tom's to another friend of mine, Laura, where more alcohol was consumed, we then finally disembarked for the hotel; this is where the evening began to unravel, i wasn't drinking so i gave a lift to Jenna, my prom date from 2 years ago, she looked beautiful in her dress and so being a gentleman i mentioned this, all the while conveniently forgetting the fact that i already had a date for the evening.
When we arrived we had our photos taken with our friends and some of the staff, our head of year and alike, we then moved inside where we were served mediocre, at best, sparkling wine, this wouldn't be a problem for the normal 17 or 18 year old but for me this was appalling, apparently working in a wine department has made me into a bit of a snob and i now fell able to openly criticise wine, well someone had too, much to the amusement of others around me.
It was during the serving of the champagne that i looked around and realised how well dressed everyone looked, the majority of the girls were beautiful and the majority of the men were well presented in suits and even one kilt, we couldn't do without our Celtic mad Scotsman; that said some of the girls managed to embarress themselves, with all the oppurtunities they had and alll the time they had to prepare themselves some still failed to impress and these were of course the ones who had decided a nice shade of dale winton orange was the best colour for the occasion, i don't understand the fascination with fake tan and why girls feel they need to resort to it. Probably something to do with the guys i dislike that i mentioned above, and the girls desire to impress them.
Matching Colour

The next part of the evening was a bit of a letdown for me, usually i'm happy to eat the food in front of me but the food at the hotel didn't reach my expectation and as a result much of it remained untouched on my plate. As well as this the drinks were an extortionate amount, £8 for a malibu and coke and £20 for a crappy bottle of rose, the most expensive rose i've seen is £15 and thats at a high end supermarket. A group of us then proceeded to have our photos taken to commerate the occasion and of course to help remember each other as we rush of to uni, the photos were amazing and they now sit proudly in my room.
I'm second from the right

After the photos we proceeded to the dance floor where started to dazzle the collected masses with my amazing dance moves; no not really i'm a alright dancer on a good day but i was okay on the night, i managed to dance with a pair of beautiful girls and this was definately one of the high points of the night. We danced for another hour, the drama teachers displaying the wilder side of the department, being the craziest of all teachers, and stealing my hip flask of vodka; something i've been asked not to say anything about, apparently that sort of thing is frown upon by the school. The party wound down at midnight, with us being told to continue the party where the teachers weren't responsible for us, for a group of us this meant returning to our friend indy's, well what can only be described as a mansion, complete with a fountain and a guest house, the same size as a normal house, maybe there is a thing as too rich. unfortunately due to work the next morning which required me to get up at 7 i called it a night at 1 and took myself home, i felt so mature at that point. That was our may ball, a different class of party, were the men were presentable and smart and the girls were all beautiful, regardless of their skin tone.
I'm also very excited about a concert i'm going to next month, i've seen these guys once before and they were amazing so i'm so happy to be going back to see them. you may recognise one of them, he played a significant part in my favourite program for over 9 years.
Check them out, you may like them, i was also introduced to neon trees by my compadre WayJ and I'm addicted to their song Animal at the moment, also worth checking out. In my last post i decided to dedicate my post to henry cooper and i said i'd do that on every post, but then i realised that it wasn't really sustainable and i didn't want to wait for a guy i respected to die to have to blog, so i'll only do it when i can now.
Now back to the monotonus world that is revision for my life destroying and soul killing exams.
